Description

Arcand Locomotive Company "Baselard" Mk.I Light Tank

Developed in the mid 1940's as a Light Tank to serve along on the frontline in service of the Arcand Empire, providing anti-armour support for infantry platoons and heavy tank brigades on the battlefield.

The "Baselard" was developed in light of a requirement for a light tank to serve along side the "Anelace" Mk.I Light Tank, but with a low-silhouette. Rather than designing from scratch, the Baselard incorporated some features from the Anelace Light tank, most notably the turret. Unlike most ALC tank designs, the Baselard had its engine moved to the front, allowing for a rear-escape hatch to be installed to the rear.

The image depicts the "Baselard" Mk.I in a classic Arcand paint scheme and rear-mounted auxiliary fuel tank.
